1st Step Accounting, LLC is committed to making 1ststepaccounting.com usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We are continually improving the site and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities.

What we have done

• A “Skip to main content” link and clearly marked page regions, so keyboard and screen-reader users can move around the site efficiently.
• Visible focus outlines on links, buttons and form fields for people who navigate by keyboard.
• Text and link colours that meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, with links in body text underlined.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images and descriptive titles on embedded videos, forms and booking tools.
• Respect for your device’s “reduce motion” setting.
• An accessibility button (bottom-left of every page) that lets you enlarge text, underline all links, increase text spacing and stop animations. Your choices are remembered on your device.

Third-party content

Some parts of the site are provided by other companies, such as our online client forms (Cognito Forms), appointment booking, the secure client portal and embedded videos. We choose providers that state a commitment to accessibility, but we do not control their content. If you have trouble with any of these, please contact us and we will help you complete the task another way, such as by phone or email.

Known limitations

Some older articles and downloadable documents (PDF worksheets and checklists) may not be fully accessible. If you need any document in an alternative format, contact us and we will provide it.
